5 Minute Smokey Eye
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

Let’s be real, sometimes we want to look fly with minimal effort! Here’s one of my favorite ways to do a dark smokey eye for women of color which is not easy being that they usually come across like we got punched in the eye! The smokey eye has become a staple, timeless look. Here’s one of my favorite variations of it!

Here’s what I used in the video!
MAC Greasepaint stick
MAC Smut Eyeshadow
MAC Feline eye kohl
Inglot #464 eyeshadow
Inglot #30 eyeshadow
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara
Eye M Glam by Giella
NARS Dolce Vita Blush
MAC Cork lipliner
MAC Faux Lipstick
MAC Baroque Boudoir Lipstick

Thank you for sharing this. I’ll definitely try this look. It seems easy enough for anyone to get. And make-up is expensive so sometimes I look at the list of stuff I need to buy and it’s either not available in Europe or the colors are really not something you’de use everyday (as a beginner). So thanks again!

It’s a lot more simple than you think, fortunately the smokey eye is becoming the timeless look of our generation and you really don’t need a ton of fancy products to achieve it either. Good luck!

Jackie, this look is absolutely gorgeous. I have been wanting a smokey eye that I can do for the daytime but that is not too over the top. I have learned so much thru your vidoes, please keep them coming and keep up the outstanding work it’s so nice to see a beautiful black woman with skills, brains, and a true passion for something positive along with a wonderful personality who speaks well. God Bless you tremendously!

    Thanks again

This is an absolutely lovely tutorial. The completed look is fabulous. I was wondering though, what would be a good alternative to MAC e/s Smut, on a darker skin tone ? I’m NW55 in studio fix fluid, & smut does not show up on me at all ! : ( Keep up the great work. Be blessed

    Hello Lilpumkinpie 05,
Would Smut eyeshadow show up on my skintone. I would be an NW50 in MAC and 178 in MUFE. Your reply is appreciated.

This look is flawless. I’ve having difficulty purchasing the two eyeshawdows fron iglot (#30 & #464). Are there any similar colors from another company that I can purchase?

I’m having trouble purchasing the Inglot shadows. Are there any MAC colors that could substitute those for this look?
