Not like 5 lbs is a whole lot but to me it speaks volumes! A lot of you guys had asked if I had a diet/workout routine from my recent outfit of the day posts, and up until the time I uploaded those videos I truly did not have one.
For the month of June I set a personal goal to try to lose 5 lbs and I did it in 3 weeks. This video is going to be showing you how I did that and what my diet consists of for those that have asked me to share this information.
In a nutshell/key points mentioned
Set realistic goals for yourself (are you trying to lose weight just to fit into that dress next month, or do you really want to transition to a better lifestyle?
Watch what you eat (be picky) I am picky on so many levels so this one would be too long to explain
No soda – enough said!
Plenty of water! – 2.5 liters a day minimum for me, plus I work in the desert so this is extremely important
Identify your weaknesses – if sugar is your weakness, cut it out. If carbs are your weakness like me, moderate them. Just use common sense! If you know something is bad for you, minimize it!
Doing cardio 3-4 times a week, for 45 minutes a day, minimum – for me that included doing 45 minutes of cycling, which totaled about 11.5 miles, or a 2 mile RUN (not walk)
Take ya vitamiz kidz! I take 3 Omega 3,6,9 Fish Oil tablets every single day with meals. Fish oil helps tremendously with speeding up workout recovery, so after you do those intense cardio workouts you don’t feel so sluggish the next day. Talk about a lifesaver!
Never ever starve yourself and NO short term diets – Rather than eating 2 or 3 large meals, I broke those meals up in smaller portions and starting eating them more frequently, every 3-4 hours to be exact. And as for short term diets, well if you’re only willing to diet for the short term, then you’re only going to see short term results, what’s the point?
No short term workout routines – Okay this one is just a personal preference. Insanity workouts, P90x and all those other trending workouts are probably phenomenal for the results you get, but what’s the point if they only last a month so you can go back to your old habits? Unless you plan on doing these workout routines permanently, I couldn’t imagine only getting a teaser of something and not being able to keep it and maintain it. I’d much rather have a steady continuous workout. Like Crossfit! I did Crossfit when I lived in Hawaii and never got back into it but it’s intense enough for you to shape up but not so intense where you’re not willing to continue it. I just don’t have access or know anyone in Kuwait that does it.
Although many of your may not see differences in these photos, I can! And I feel it too. Not only have friends and coworkers seen the difference in person but my thighs have slimmed down, I’ve lost an inch off my hips and so have my abs. I am extremely pleased and will continue to upgrade myself from here on out. Even when I lose a few lbs I still have curves! I just want to continue to work towards a healthier, more active me now. Not that there was much wrong with me before, but I honestly look and feel like a little bit better version of myself now. If you want to preserve your already good body you’re not going to do so by sitting on the couch all day! I’m just saying!
Hope that motivates someone a bit! Love yall
Jackie O
