Truthfully I rarely ever care much about what’s trending and what’s not. I usually tend to go with the flow with what I wear and dress according to how I feel. But I can’t help but be a little stoked about all the oxblood popping up in magazines for this fall season.

Oxblood is a dark, rich red and looks amazing on both fair and dark skin in both clothing and in makeup. In regards to makeup, on fair skin it gives just the right amount of edge in contrast with the light complexion, and on darker skin it makes for a sultry, sexy look that’s both daytime and nighttime wearable.

My mother is in her early 50′s and wears a shade of oxblood or eggplant purple lipstick every single day. When I was a kid, being the knucklehead that I was, thought only old women wore that color. Needless to say I know better now!

I love how rich and sultry oxblood is. (Sidenote: How sexy is that NARS Lipstick?!) This color is going to be epic for women of all races this season! So bring it on!
