Channeling Diana Ross for Black History Month
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

This is the first video I am doing in honor of Black History Month.  For those of you that don’t already know, I’ll be honoring some of the biggest and most influential black divas of the century by recreating their makeup looks. I thought it would be a great way to combine my love for beauty with a way to honor those that have paved the way for us, like Ms Ross the Boss herself!

I chose Diana for this series because she exudes poise, confidence, has voice that is to die for and an on camera presence to match. Diana’s claim to fame was she became the lead singer of The Supremes in the 60′s until eventually going solo in the 70′s. Here are some fun facts about Ms. Ross that I thought I’d share.

-The Supremes was the most successful female group with 12 number one singles

-Diana’s 1972 film debut starring as Billie Holiday in “Lady Sings the Blues” earned her her first Academy Award nomination

-Diana is a recipient of  France’s prestigious Commander in the Order of Arts and Letters

-Miss Ross has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as “most successful female artist of all time” with 70+ hit singles

THIS ladies and gentlemen is apart of our black history. Thank you Ms Ross for your contributions not only to us as a community but as women of color who are striving to break barriers!

Hi Jackie! I use Mac’s mineralized skinfinish natural in dark. I bought it in 2010, and it barely has a dent in it. How long can these products last before you have to throw it out? Thank you!
