My Obagi Results :-)
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

After about 2 months of not wearing makeup, in and out of the Obagi clinic, countless days/weeks of having my face fully covered to stay out of the sun, I am more then pleased to finally formally show you guys just what the Obagi program has done for my skin. I know a lot of you have already seen these results in videos, but I wanted to formally show the close-up photos and explain again what procedures I had done.

I say “procedures” quite loosely as they really are not as scary as they sound, I promise :-)
I started my Obagi regimen last year when I began using the Blender creme which significantly helped fade my acne scarring a lot. After about 3 months of using that cream, I finally decided to go through with a chemical peel. The Blue Radiance Peel is a mild peel done in 2 week increments. I had 3 of them done and decided I was pleased with my results. You are allowed to use the recommended Obagi creams in between the peels BUT only at a dermatologists recommendation. I would first like to reiterate that for any of you looking to do this please fully research and speak with a professional who can recommend something that is right for you and your skincare needs. I am not a doctor and can not and will not recommend something to you, nor can I locate the nearest facility for you. But I can show you something that worked great for me and hopefully it will guide some of your in the direction towards a similar success story someday!

Here’s blog post #1 which will show you how I looked and when I started

http://makeupgameonpoint.com/2012/03/08/skin-diaries-obagi-blue-peel-radiance-day-1/

Now here’s the results after my 2nd peel, don’t let the lighting fool you guys, I’m really not as light as I look, plus I work graveyard shift so I rarely see the sun lol unfortunately I didn’t take very many pictures of how I looked while I was peeling the 2nd time, but here are the results anyhow.

The third peel put me on quite the edge, I’m not going to lie I got SCARED! My skin definitely reacted to it moreso this time than it did the the first two peels. To the point where I thought something was wrong. This is what I mean when I say SEE A DERMATOLOGIST! And if you do decide to get this done please be sure you follow their exact instructions, do not panic, ever, and constantly communicate things with them as you go through with this as they will be able to help you along the way. The symptoms I went through apparently were perfectly normal, and I am indeed glad I did not worry because my skin after all the hell and tears ended up beautiful then it’s been in years.

The following pictures are quite hard to look at, proceed with caution!

Peel #3, Lord here’s what she looked like

^^this is what I saw day 2 after receiving the 3rd peel. I immediately began corresponding with my health professional about the symptoms I had experienced and she saw them in person and told me with 100% confidence that I was not to be alarmed, everything was perfectly okay and this is what is to be expected. Although I was confused I admit lol she never gave me a reason not to trust her, so I continued the regimen she kept me on to maintain my skin while I went through the peel.

Low and behold damn she was right! This is me a week after taking those previous photos.

Still some issues with pigmentation, BUT it had improved dramatically from the previous burns I had received from the third peel. Luckily all of these peels are deep enough to actually damage my skin, because this is how my skin looks today, a month and a half after my peel process has completed. These pictures were taken about 2 weeks from today, April 20th.

I give the Obagi system a 10 out of 10. It gave my skin it’s beautiful glow that it lost over the years, and has helped educate me in the tools to help maintain healthy beautiful skin. I WILL be including chemical peels in my yearly routine. As for my daily skincare routine I use some of his creams two times a week and that’s it. His facial scrub works awesome with my Clarisonic. There truly is not much more that can be said about this stuff, the pictures speak for itself :)
