Cotton Candy Eyes
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

I’m not gonna lie, from time to time I get requests for tutorials using pink eyeshadow and I DESPISE pink eyeshadow. It’s just one of the few colors, in my opinion, that doesn’t belong on the eyes lol

But anyhow, I got inspired to use my new 120 color palette that My Beauty Mark Cosmetics sent me, so this is what I came up with! I blame Nicki Minaj for this look (doesn’t it look like something she would rock?) That, and staying up at odd hours of the night gazing at makeup inspiration photos for some of the ideas I come up with!

yummy, right? ;-)

Aaliyah We Need a Resolution Inspired Makeup
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

Look number 3 from my series!

AND it’s been the most requested too! This is the dark eye/red lip look Aaliyah is rocking in the vid.

This is one of my favorite Aaliyah songs (Rock the Boat being number one) so I was pleased to do this look, and was pleased with how fab it turned out with the products I was working with.

How Stunning was Aaliyah in this video? We really began to see her aging gracefully from teenage star to young lady in this album. *tears*

I didn’t know this but according to a viewer of mine her makeup artist also passed away in the plane crash that took Aaliyah’s life.  Today we celebrate their life, recognize their talent and may they continue to inspire for generations to come.

I hope you guys enjoyed <3

Smokey Bridal Tutorial
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

The tutorial everyone has been inquiring about in my last couple videos this week is finally here :)

If you haven’t already noticed, I am REALLY enjoying and getting my money’s worth out of my Urban Decay Naked Palette. If you don’t already own one, you might want to consider it so you can follow along with all the fun the rest of us are having ^_^ this is truly a makeup artist and makeup enthusiast must have!

Anyhow, as I’ve been discussing on Facebook and Twitter and here on the blog, I’d like to do a series of bridal looks. But being that bridal is such a large genre, I’d like to do a few looks to fit different styles for every bride. The smokey/glam bride is what I’d like to consider this one. Because bridal, quite frankly to me, isn’t just about a natural look. I thought I’d kick it up just a notch :)

Kim Kardashian Concealer Tutorial
Categories: Makeup Tutorials

Recently one of my favorite makeup artists on YouTube, GossMakeupArtist, did a video tutorial on how to achieve the coveted Kim Kardashian concealer method that everyone is raving about. Regardless of whether you love or hate the gal, her makeup always looks on point. And the tutorial he uploaded inspired me to show you all how to achieve similar results but for darker skin women. There are many makeup artists and enthusiasts alike that want to emulate Kim K’s makeup looks. I have yet to (personally speaking) find one for dark women. So here’s my take on it!

Here’s what you’ll need:

A full coverage concealer – I’m using MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer in NW40
A medium coverage concealer – I used MAC’s Select Cover-Up, also in NW40
(both of the above mentioned concealers are lighter than my complexion and serve as a highlight, you want to use something that’s one-two shades lighter than you)
A translucent setting powder – I am using the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
Beauty Blender sponge and latex (or non latex) sponges
A fixing spray – I used MAC’s Fix +
A face powder – I used the Mineralized  Skinfinish Natural in Dark Deep by MAC

Here’s the instructional video

Enjoy guys!
